Associate Managers are responsible for all front-of-the house operations and assist the General Manager in the restaurant operations to ensure planned sales and profit levels are met or exceeded. Additional responsibilities include:
People
Provide direction to front-of-house staff, ensuring execution of all employee duties to guarantee maximum guest satisfaction and a quality work environment.
Assists the General Manager in planning and analyzing administration and operations manpower.
Required, under certain circumstances, to perform/assist all functions for all positions in the restaurant.
Conducts employment activities to include staffing, scheduling, coaching, training, and conducting performance reviews with all heart-of-the-house personnel, as well as recommending salary increases and handling documented constructive coaching.
Ensures the thorough training and development of Service Leaders, Certified Trainers, and other non-exempt personnel directly supervised, and the documentation thereof.
Brand
Implementation, management, and enforcement of company policies, procedures, programs, and performance standards.
Ensures that all menu items are prepared, portioned, and presented properly in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner, according to all established procedures, performance standards, and specifications.
Sales
Attends unit management meetings, makes presentations as requested.
Anticipates, identifies and corrects system breakdowns to achieve maximum guest satisfaction.
Active management of the dining room and execute Guest satisfaction standards at each table.
Profit
Ensures the unit's compliance to efficiency and service standards with a sufficient number of well-trained and productive employees.
Ensures proper management of the facility and equipment through preventive maintenance, energy conservation, repairs, security measures, and adherence to safety and sanitation requirements.
Associate Manager Key Qualifications:
Must possess excellent communication and supervisory skills.
Need at least two years of supervisory experience in restaurant management; similar concept preferred.

SUMMARY OF POSITION
Responsibility for development of new and improved food items, ensuring compliance with safe food practices and will develop project plans, monitor and report project progress against timelines. This position will work with Operations, Marketing, and Purchasing departments as well as outside vendor resources, to deliver products that are consistent with Brand business strategies and goals.
POSITION ACTIVITIES AND TASKS
* Research, develop, and test new food items and new or alternative ingredients to improve existing items for the Brand (including base menu, promotional and seasonal items, etc.) Ensure products tested are Brand believable, are operationally feasible, and meet target parameters.
* Generate recipes, procedures and complete specifications to ensure consistent execution of menus and products according to established brand standards.
* Responsible for tracking product consumption, labor hours, guest counts, food cost, etc. as necessary to gauge overall profitability of test goals.
* Develop, monitor and report project status to ensure timely menu changes, while working with internal departments and external resources to develop recipes and methods of food production.
* Manage and develop relationships with vendors maximizing vendor resources to achieve project goals including industry intelligence and best practices.
* Work with Food & Beverage team on the development of recipes consistent with Brand needs, as well as training materials for product/menu rollouts.
* Effectively gather information outside the company in order to stay current with industry practices and standards
* Test and evaluate new equipment; make recommendation for purchases of equipment or smallwares and/or procedural changes based on research and testing.
* Advises, guides, directs and authorizes department personnel to develop and process new and enhanced products consistent with company menu and other guidelines
Qualified candidates will have experience in research & development for chain food service operations. Secondary skill set requirements include management of food service systems, inlcuding safety systems and delivery systems. Additional experience in Q & A settings with multi-unit field and franchise units is required
An equivalent combination of education and professional experience may also be considered.
